Beginner’s Guide To A Flawless Golf Swing!
A golf swing is the motion where the golf club is swung by the player at the stationary ball on the ground, from a side stance. A perfect golf swing will carry the ball in the air for considerable distances and then the ball may or may not roll after hitting the ground, depending on the quality of the shot. Long shots are generally a lot less accurate. But a longer shot can eventually be effective, if it helps in reducing the total number of shots for a given hole, but inaccurate long shots can lead to extra strokes being used or penalties being enforced. A golfer therefore should strive to master the perfect golf swing, but even then he should vary his range of shots, depending on the different situations, and decide whether it's wise to use aggressive stroke play.
There are a few basic things that any golfer, aiming to get a perfect golf swing, must keep in mind - the first being, the golfer's body alignment with respect to the target. Ideally stand five to ten feet behind the ball, with the ball being between your body and the target. Use guidance marks like longer blades of grass or dirt, inches in front of the ball and behind it, to make sure that they are in a straight line between the ball and the target. As you approach the ball, the key to the perfect golf swing lies in keeping focused on the guidance marks you have set. Align the face of the club directly behind the ball, in a straight line with the guidance marks on the ground. Before swinging, grip the club not too tightly, but just tight enough to keep it from slipping. Use the ground targets to align your feet parallel to them, keep your shoulders wide and your knees bent a little. For the perfect golf swing and the swivel of the hips, keep your front foot slightly pointed towards the target. While keeping your eyes on the ball, tilt your torso ever so slightly towards the ball, keeping your back straight. Don't forget to keep your shoulders parallel with the guidance marks on the ground and your toes as you tilt your head downwards. Now that you are through with the set up motions, you are ready to launch into the perfect golf swing. Start by tucking your back elbow closest to your ribs and steadily take the club back, in line with the guidance marks. As the back swing continues, keep the front elbow tucked in place and your chin tucked firmly in the front shoulder. Keep your hips as still as possible, as your front knee turns inwardly. At the very end of your back swing, slightly break your wrists, uncoil your wrists as you bring the club down on the ball, follow through by shifting your body weight on to your front foot. Voila, that's your perfect golf swing! |
